Please don't discontinue Apr 22, 2010 I just had to do a bit of searching around to find this smoother. I have worn this style for at least ten years and am so afraid it will go out of production. Last year I had a double mastectomy without reconstruction. There is no body shaper mastectomy bra available, so I removed the underwires from this favorite body briefer and wear it. I place my prostheses in prosthesis covers that are available. I sewed one inch wide ribbon loops to the top of the prosthesis covers. With each prosthesis in its cover, I place them in the cups of the bra and safety pin through the ribbon loop to the bra just below the place where the strap joins the bra cup. I find this as comfortable as ever and still have the smoothing my 69 year old body needs.
Very comfortable Apr 08, 2010 I've been wearing these for many years, and they almost feel like you aren't wearing anything! Great in hot weather! Even though very light and comfortable, they provide adequate support for larger than average bust; I wear a 38C and am size 14. Yet, no matter which regular bra's I've tried, the pressure point seems always right under the breast bone where I'm quite tender due to a hiatal hernia, so this is a wonderful solution for anyone with similar stomach issues.
Fit can be a little tight in the body and OK in the cup, or visa versa. Fpr me, seems to run a bit small, so went to next size. The heavier compression type shapewear is hot and not nearly as comfortable.
Straps are a bit flimsy, and center strap seam can separate over time and washings exposing a scratchy interface material which is irritating to skin.
I've always laundered in washing machine on a delicate setting; hence I probably increase the risk of seam separation. I don't mix the white ones with anything that isn't white, and because they do "grey" easily, I use oxy clean rather than bleach. I suppose using a mesh laundry bag would be optimal....
Overall, the comfort, lightness, and support far outweigh the deficiencies, and I highly recommend this product.
Nice, moderate control Feb 23, 2010 I thought this briefer was very comfortable. I also thought, however, that it ran big. I would recommend ordering a (body) size smaller. The cup sizes are good.
Can not wear with anything low cut Jan 22, 2010 I ordered this expecting to be able to wear it to a nice dinner. The only problem is, I CAN'T WEAR IT WITH HALF MY SHIRTS! Sure it holds me in fine, but wear it with a V-neck shirt and it peeks out all night. It even shows in a nice cowl-neck sweater.
Bali Stretch Lace Body Briefer #7432 Dec 12, 2009 Just received mine in black and white. Although I have not had them long, I have to agree with other reviewers who suggest this might be the ONLY body briefer I wouldn't mind to be seen in! For what it is, it is very pretty and does not look like Grandma's girdle-wear. I do take issue however, with the reviewer who said they are for size 6 -10ers (why would you even buy one of these if you are that tiny??). I'm here to tell you that you do not control the market, not by a large margin (pardon the pun). The average American woman today wears a size 14-16. And I am here to tell you that it looks great on that size frame. Furthermore--unless you are looking for serious "suck power" (as my girlfriends say)--this briefer works just fine. It is lacy and thus allows skin to breathe. It is moderately elastic and thus, offers a wee bit of smoothing. The bra part is VERY lift-and-separate as they say! (Just a hint of pointy, so be forewarned if you prefer the uni-boob look). So, my two cents to say that larger sizes look and work just great in this model as long as you are not looking for girdle-grade suck power. I wear mine weekends and casual, however, I'm thinking of buying more for fulltime duty (work wear) because they are so much more darn comfy than the stiffer ones. Matter of personal taste I guess. Also, one complaint and something I will be keeping an eye on--the straps are disappointingly cheap--both the fabric and the attachment site. Because I am pretty chesty (DD) I worry about the weight pulling on the fabric and wonder how long it will hold. The plasic loops are cheap and look like the kind that will break with too much laundering. Other than that--pretty, functional, comfortable, with serious lift-and-separation of the girls! Try one! You will probably like it. Oh--and I give it a 4.5 because of the cheaper, hard straps and fear of pulling, and slight-pointy-factor.
